WTA Replies to Comments in Enhanced ACAM Proceeding

On August 1, WTA responded to comments filed in the FCC’s proceeding on the ACAM Broadband Coalition’s proposal to update the USF ACAM program.  In its comments, WTA reasserted that the FCC should adopt the Coalition’s proposal prior to implementation of NTIA’s BEAD Program as it is uncertain whether BEAD funding will be enough to connect every location to high-speed broadband. In addition, the need for funding for maintenance and upgrades will remain despite other network construction programs. WTA also urged the FCC to continue using tested methods of distribution so that rural providers have certainty and can invest for the future.
