WTA Monitors COVID-19 Leading Up To Its Spring Educational Forum

March 6, 2020 – The severity of the illness or how many people will fall ill from COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is unknown at this time.  But please know that the WTA Board and staff takes its members’ health and safety very seriously – especially at our events – and encourages everyone to take the proper precautions to protect themselves against contracting the virus and spreading it.

Planning for WTA’s 2020 Spring Educational Forum in Miramar Beach, FL (April 26-29) is nearly complete – the latest agenda is posted under 2020 Spring Meeting More Information on our website.  WTA continues to closely monitor developments regarding the Coronavirus and is working with the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa (Resort) to ensure all necessary steps and precautions are taking place to protect all of our attendees.  The Resort issued the following statement:

Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa Statement:

“The safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees are of paramount importance to us. Although the CDC has stated the threat of the COVID-19 in the United States remains low, we have taken several preventative measures. Our staff has been trained on the latest safety recommendations, we have increased the frequency of cleaning of all public areas of the resort, and we are adding sanitizer stations and anti-bacterial products throughout the resorts for guests and employees. We remain vigilant and will do everything we can to ensure our guests have a safe and pleasant stay.”

Again, WTA’s Spring Educational Forum is proceeding as planned.  If you decide to cancel your attendance, be sure to review WTA’s cancellation and the Resort cancellation policies posted under 2020 Spring Meeting More Information on our website.  WTA will revisit its position if a Federal emergency is declared, travel closures are declared by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, or the Resort closes/cancels its contract to host WTA’s Spring Educational Forum.  WTA encourages its members to review information provided by the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/guidance-business-response.html.
