WTA Joins Industry in Urging White House to Advance BEAD Program
Today, WTA joined other broadband industry associations in sending a letter to President Trump urging “both eliminate the unnecessary and burdensome [BEAD] program requirements imposed by the Biden Administration and enable the States to move forward quickly with implementation.
In the letter, the associations say they “recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to solving rural broadband challenges and that every technology will have an important role to play in BEAD. At the same time, BEAD is a golden opportunity to drive as much fiber infrastructure as feasible into our country, which will help advance your Administration’s important connectivity, AI, and advanced manufacturing goals…we appreciate your leadership in moving the program forward.”
This follows up on WTA’s letter from earlier this year urging NTIA to let states move forward with BEAD implementation and provide the funding states have already awarded to its member companies in Louisiana and Nevada.
