Rural Associations Discuss Video Accessibility at FCC

On April 12th, WTA and NTCA met with representatives from the Media and Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureaus to discuss the approaching December 2018 video accessibility deadline applicable to small MVPDs. The Associations reviewed the technology available to their members with respect to compliance with the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (“CVAA”) talking guide requirement, while noting that the market did not develop as the FCC originally expected when adopting the rules. WTA continues to be engaged on the topic with the FCC and the industry and recommends that its members discuss their available solutions with their individual vendors.
