WTA Files Comments in Lifeline Proceeding
On February 21st, WTA filed comments in the Commission’s Lifeline proceeding titled “Bridging the Digital Divide for Low-Income Consumers.” Specifically, WTA supports the Commission’s proposal to end or reduce the phase down of voice services as required by the previous Lifeline Order. This is sensible as the Commission noted in its NPRM that voice service costs twice as much in rural areas than in urban areas and remains a critical form of communication.
