Rural Associations File Comments on Broadband NOI
Yesterday, NECA, WTA, NTCA and ERTA filed comments in response to the FCC’s Tenth Broadband Progress Notice of Inquiry. The FCC is seeking data and information to help determine whether advanced telecommunications is being deployed to all Americans in a reasonable and timely fashion. The associations presented data that demonstrates that RLECs “have made commendable progress in deploying broadband to rural areas, but as important as measuring broadband availability to schools, businesses, and other consumers is, it is equally critical to carefully consider the concept of broadband sustainability” and that “more work remains to be done to fill gaps.”
