WTA Joins Industry Letter in Support of Bill to Reform Railroad Permitting Process

Today, WTA sent a letter with industry partners to the leadership of the House Energy and Commerce Committee in support of H.R. 6046, the Broadband and Telecommunications RAIL Act. WTA’s member companies often encounter long delays when dealing with railroad crossings while building broadband networks. The bill would create “reasonable timelines, transparent, cost-based compensation standards, and a clear dispute resolution process, the legislation ensures that broadband providers can deploy necessary infrastructure efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of railroad safety and operational integrity.”
