WTA, Industry Partners, Urge Senate to Fund ACP, Rip and Replace

This week, WTA joined other industry trade associations in sending a letter to Senate leadership urging them to support continued funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Reimbursement Program (Rip and Replace Program). The letter said, in part, “Fully and immediately funding the removal, destruction, and replacement of untrusted network equipment via the Rip & Replace Program and sustaining the ACP are both critical for supporting and maintaining connectivity across the country, especially in rural areas and low-income communities.”

Funding ACP through the end of the calendar year will provide policymakers additional time to figure out a long-term solution for a broadband subsidy program for low-income Americans.
