WTA Meets With FCC Staff to Discuss ACAM Election Process
On May 6, representatives from WTA staff and member companies met with staff from the FCC’s Wireline Competition Bureau to discuss how the second step of the ACAM election process and related budget modifications would work, specifically, “with respect to carriers that initially selected an ACAM support offer which was less than the support they received from the legacy mechanisms in 2015, but then subsequently declined to accept a revised ACAM offer. WTA expressed general concern that some options for dealing with this situation would reduce the overall budget for all carriers remaining on the Rate of Return Path, and thereby penalize carriers that had not selected, or could not select, the Model-Based Path, and that had not participated in the actions of those carriers that had opted into, and then out of, the ACAM support offers.”
