WTA Congratulates Tom Wheeler and Michael O’Rielly
WTA congratulates Tom Wheeler and Michael O’Rielly on their Senate confirmations to serve as chairman and commissioner, respectively, of the Federal Communications Commission.
“There are many critical issues that must be addressed at the Commission regarding rural telcos’ ability to continue providing meaningful and high quality broadband throughout their service territories, and we’re glad to see the Commission will be back at full strength,” said Kelly Worthington, WTA’s Executive Vice President. “WTA looks forward to working with Chairman Wheeler and Commissioner O’Rielly to find solutions to the challenges facing our members, so they can continue to serve rural high cost areas,” said Worthington.
“WTA also thanks Acting Chairwoman Clyburn for her leadership over the past several months. During her tenure as chair, in collaboration with Commissioners Rosenworcel and Pai, she moved several important issues through the Commission, most recently the Report and Order on call completion,” said Worthington.
