Rural Associations File Comments On NPRM on Unsubsidized Competitors

Today, NECA, WTA, NTCA and ERTA filed comments in response to a FCC Public Notice seeking comment service obligations and identification of unsubsidized competitors for purposes of Connect America Fund Phase II support.  The associations are concerned that the determinations proposed in the Public Notice “will fail to capture accurately and entirely the extent to which a competitor offers a meaningful alternative in such areas, thus undermining the statutory mandate of universal service.”
